Fructose-free
No fruit, honey, fructose-based syrups, or table sugar (sucrose = glucose + fructose).
What Is It?
For people with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) or fructose malabsorption. Avoid fruit, honey, syrups (HFCS, agave), certain vegetables (onions, artichokes, asparagus), and sweeteners such as sorbitol.
Important
Table sugar (sucrose) contains fructose—in many cases, it should also be avoided. Pure glucose is safe.
Where It’s Hidden
Sweet-and-sour sauces, glazes, red wine reductions (with fruit), jams, chutneys, and many desserts.
